A Family-Owned Painting Company Built on Integrity
He found his calling restoring old oceanfront homes along the Maine coast — homes that had been beaten by salt air, UV exposure, and a hundred freeze-and-thaw cycles a year. He saw what the right paint, applied the right way, could do for a weathered home. The craft pulled him in.
Every prep step became deliberate. Every product choice became intentional. Every brushstroke had to earn its place. That obsession became Putnam Coastal Painting.
Meghan brought what Jordan could not. While Jordan refined the craft on the ladder, Meghan built the business behind it — answering calls, managing schedules, mastering cabinet refinishing as her own specialty, and making sure every client felt heard from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
Together they grew slowly, project by project, referral by referral. No marketing tricks. No outsourcing. Just two people committed to a single standard: do the work right whether anyone is watching or not.
"My team and I stay at the forefront of new products, techniques, and materials in the industry. We are constantly in contact with others in the field sharing ideas and experiences. I truly love my work, and it shows in every project we undertake!"

Meghan Martinez
Jordan leads every exterior project personally. Ten plus years on Maine’s coast taught him which products survive the salt air and which ones fail by year two. He’s the reason our exterior work lasts 8 to 12 years instead of the industry average 5.
If your home is within half a mile of the ocean, Jordan probably already knows the right primer, the right topcoat, and the right number of coats before he sets foot on the property.
Festool dust-free sanding on every project. No exceptions. No shortcuts. Cleaner prep means longer-lasting paint.

Meghan Martinez
Meghan is the reason every project runs smoothly. She specializes in cabinet refinishing — taking tired kitchens and bathrooms and making them look factory-new at a fraction of replacement cost. No demolition. No weeks without a kitchen.
She is also your point of contact from first call to final walkthrough. When you reach out, you talk to Meghan. When you have a question mid-project, you call Meghan. That continuity is deliberate.
Cabinet refinishing that looks indistinguishable from new — done in days, not weeks.

We use only premium paints from Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Johnson Paint. We never use builder-grade or discount products. Premium paint means better coverage, longer lasting color, and a finish that holds up in Maine's coastal climate. The difference in quality is visible and measurable.
Surface preparation is where a lasting paint job starts. Our preparation process includes thorough power washing, professional dust-free sanding with our Festool system, spot priming, caulking all gaps and joints, and full-surface priming where needed. Proper preparation is the single biggest factor in how long your paint job lasts.
With proper preparation and premium paint, an exterior paint job on a Maine coastal home lasts 8 to 12 years. Homes within half a mile of the ocean face salt air, UV exposure, and over 100 freeze and thaw cycles per year. We use specialty coastal grade formulations from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore engineered specifically for these conditions. [Learn more about coastal painting]
